Honoring Women Who Shatter Stereotypes and Break Barriers

At Vama, we believe in celebrating women who lead with purpose, passion, and resilience. On a special occasion dedicated to courage and achievement, we proudly felicitated eight extraordinary women who have broken the glass ceiling in their respective fields and continue to inspire countless others through their work.

1. Ms. Mita Vakil – An innovative educationist and the visionary behind the “Global Medium” concept, which integrates mother tongue and English education. Her model is officially recognized by the Gujarat government and adopted by over 30 schools.
2. Dr. Pragna Kalarthi – A gynecologist and devoted social worker who returned from the USA to manage Gandhi Bapu’s Swaraj Ashram, dedicating her life to educating thousands of tribal girls.
3. Ms. Nayna Kateodiya – A self-taught artist and educator with only a 10th-grade education, yet she teaches over 350 students—including aspiring architects, designers, engineers, and doctors—in drawing and fine arts.
4. Ms. Rajvi Jaan – Gujarat’s first transgender entrepreneur and a trailblazer, running both a namkeen shop and a pet store. She is also the first transgender brand ambassador for a footwear company.
5. Ms. Krutika Shah – An architect and passionate dancer who has elevated Indian folk dance to the global stage through her devotion and artistry.
6. Ms. Shenan Christian – A nationally and internationally acclaimed badminton player who, at just 25, has participated in over 80 national and 16 international tournaments, representing India at the World University Championships in Malaysia.
7. Ms. Shrungi Desai – A fearless advocate specializing in civil, criminal, and matrimonial law, known for successfully fighting cases of rape, sexual harassment, and domestic violence.
8. Ms. Nishma Singhal – An entrepreneur and pet lover with a master’s degree in cosmetics and perfumery. Her pet care brand creates perfumes and grooming essentials for animals, combining passion with innovation.
